MCP Mastery Path¶
A structured, module-wise Model Context Protocol (MCP) training program that takes you from your first local server to production-grade, master-level agent infrastructure — with runnable code in every module and a hands-on project at the end of each level.
How the program is organized¶
| Level | Focus | Modules |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 · Entry | MCP fundamentals — protocol, primitives, your first server | 9 topics + 1 project |
| Level 2 · Intermediate | Production servers — HTTP transport, auth, real APIs | 9 topics + 1 project |
| Level 3 · Advanced | Multi-server systems, security & resilience | 9 topics + 1 project |
| Level 4 · Master | Enterprise MCP, the wider ecosystem & a capstone | 9 topics + 1 capstone |
How to use this site¶
- Work through each level in order — later modules assume earlier ones.
- Every topic page has runnable code snippets — copy them into a local Python or TypeScript project and experiment.
- Each level ends with a project that combines everything learned in that level.
- Use the search bar (top of the page) to jump straight to a topic.

Why MCP, and why now¶
By late 2026 almost every serious AI agent — in an IDE, a desktop app, a backend service — talks to its tools and data through the same open protocol instead of a different bespoke integration for every provider. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) standardizes that connection: a host application runs a client, the client speaks JSON-RPC 2.0 to one or more servers, and each server exposes tools, resources and prompts in a predictable, inspectable way. That's the same mechanism powering the tool access this very assistant uses.
This course treats MCP as its own discipline: the wire protocol underneath it, how to build and ship a real server in Python or TypeScript, how to run several servers together reliably and securely, and how to operate MCP infrastructure at production scale — not just wire up one example and call it done.
