Automotive Testing Mastery Path¶
A structured, module-wise training program for automotive ECU testing — from your first CAN frame to designing a full test strategy for a vehicle program. Real CAPL syntax, real UDS service IDs, and real CAN/CANoe/HIL concepts in every module.
About this track
This course covers specialized commercial tooling — Vector CANoe, CAPL, CANape — and real ECU/HIL test benches. None of that can run on a general-purpose machine the way a programming language can. Every lesson is written and reviewed for technical accuracy against genuinely documented CAN, CAPL, UDS (ISO 14229) and CANoe conventions; nothing here claims to have executed a CAPL script or connected to live hardware.
How the program is organized¶
| Level | Focus | Modules |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 · Entry | What automotive testing is, CAN bus fundamentals, CAN frame structure, Vector CANoe, CAPL scripting basics, UDS diagnostics basics, HIL testing intro, test case design, test standards overview | 9 topics + 1 project |
| Level 2 · Intermediate | Advanced CAPL, CANoe test modules, CAN-FD, LIN, DTC deep dive, DBC & signals, automated test sequences, restbus simulation, HIL bench components | 9 topics + 1 project |
| Level 3 · Advanced | Advanced HIL automation, CANape, automotive Ethernet, functional safety testing, test automation frameworks, fault injection, regression suites, traceability, SOTIF | 9 topics + 1 project |
| Level 4 · Master | Test strategy for vehicle programs, continuous testing, advanced fault injection, cybersecurity testing, test data management, building a team, supplier/OEM collaboration, homologation, career growth | 9 topics + 1 capstone |
How to use this site¶
- Work through each level in order — later modules assume earlier ones.
- Code examples use real CAPL syntax and real CAN/UDS conventions, labeled clearly wherever a concept is tool-specific to Vector CANoe.
- Each level ends with a project that combines everything learned in that level.
- Use the search bar (top of the page) to jump straight to a topic.
